Lolak Afrique founded in 1996 is a family run West African Cuisine which started in the heart of Peckham. Lolak Afrique has grown exponentially due to the demand from our people, now serving from three Branches in Peckham, Foresthill and Tulsehill. In 1994, Mama Lolak resigned from her Permanent Job to open her first shop in a single Unit on Choumert Road, Peckham SE15 where she makes sure to test her dishes before they are ready to be served. Alongside her permanent job she, delivered food to Nigerian emigrants in London by Cab and at local Cab offices as well as making private meals for Nigerian dignitaries on special visits to London, which included the former Stateman of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo. On arrival to England in 1991, Mama worked for the Department British Home Stores (BHS) as a kitchen assistant, quickly working her way up to Chef and Head chef where she received numerous recognition awards.
