Alyssa Sheinmel does an excellent job of letting the reader experience first hand how to grieve and move forward. But it isn't paranormal at all, it's very real. I thought of it as some other worldly paranormal thing. I've only heard of a face transplant in passing before and when I read the back of this book, I didn't think about it like that. It was very touching and left a mark that I want to keep with me. Normally as a reader I shy away from any book that is "sad" but I don't think you should shy away from this book. so most likely you won't cry as much as I did. However, I also cry at commercial's that show compassion. If it wasn't sad, it was the happy kind of sad.
